First Round Mental Caoching coming on Thursday
…it’s Free and only open to first 97 people…

——————————————————————————-

A Mental Game riddle for you. Try to figure out the answer. Who am I?

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden.
I push you onward, or drag you down to failure
I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do might as well be turned over to me.
I will do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed.
You must be firm with me.
Show me what you want to be done, and after a few lessons, I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great people.
The burden of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made a failure.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a machine and the intelligence of a person.
Run me for profit or run me for ruin.
Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?

I will tell you who I am in a minute, but you have to buy into the idea that you become what you do every single day. That’s why we talk about Making Today Your Banquet. What you do today, you will become tomorrow.

What you think about most often, you will become. I am sure that you have heard by now that the text book definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.

The answer to the riddle is that I am habit.

If you have good habits that are helping you, make those habits firm. Doing the same thing, will keep getting the same results you have always gotten unless the environment or the competition change (which is the world we live in). Make those good habits firm.

Most people will make a new years resolution for 2008. Some will carry it out for 1 or 2 weeks, some for the whole year. However, the majority of us will not last more than 2-3 days. Why? Because we are looking at an impossible task. We are looking at the end result. What we need to do is look at the process, the daily decisions we make and the HABITS that we are.

Remember, inch by inch, it is a since, yard by yard it is hard. Why wait till January 1, 2008, or till your physician tells you that you need to make change. If you look in the mirror and see some things that you do not like, internally or externally, do something about it.

Action Changes Everything

Goals are nice, but you still need to live your life and carry them out.
Often time when creating goals we get so caught up and focused on the end result and the goal itself that we forget to live here in the present. If you are looking to far ahead you will lose sight of the little details that will get you there, if you continue to look at the past then you will fall into the same traps over and over. Find something to be happy for, NOW.
If you wait around for the moment that you feel good, then you will be waiting a long time and eventually you will lose motivation and the goal will fade. Whatever you are waiting for is probably a ways off; you must act now and get there day by day. Just like eating an elephant.
The only way to eat an elephant is 1 bite at a time…
Enjoy where you are now; enjoy the process, enjoy the moment. If you wait around for good conditions or until the time is just right, you are limiting your enjoyment of life. What you are waiting for may never come, but now is here in this moment. There is always something that we are waiting for and then life will begin. Stop waiting until you get that promotion, raise, perfect mate, etc., so you can be happy, if you want it, act on it

Remember
ACE

ACTION CHANGES EVERYTHING.

It is always nice to attain the big goals, but usually the glow of achievement is short lived and we need to move on to the next goal/mission/challenge. There will always be problems and obstacles in your life and there will always be things that you want. If you wait for those problems to go away, or if you wait until you have the perfect life, you will never be happy. You must choose to be happy, independently of events that life throws you, or if you haven’t achieved your goal yet. Learn to be happy you are in the process of getting these things, or learn to be happy with what you have now, but you must find a way to be happy with what you have, where you are for the moment. Get on with your life and start smiling, smiling 15 minutes a day can cure depression.

Today + today + today = your life.

First Round Mental Coaching Program…Cain is nuts!

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

I swear I have been working for Cain for about a week and I think I am ready to jump ship. This guys in relentless. He works non-stop. I keep telling him to chill out…but, off he goes to work with a UFC fighter, the Russian National Baseball Team, some projected first rounder, or some college coach wants him to come in and set up a mental training program for his team for the upcoming season….the guys won’t quit.

We were supposed to have a conference call the other day and he did it from the airport on his way to meet another client.

Cain hired me to make it easier for more people to get his mental game program. So, we put together an awesome coaching program and I presented it to Brian. He read it while we were on the phone…he “hmm” …”ahhd” and when he got to the end he said “Oh no, that’s going to work”

I said “What?”….he said “I won’t charge that for my program”…I protested…”We have to. Look at everythign you are giving” I was fired up.

Cain said…”this is going to be the price period!”

“Ok, Then we have to take some things away” I said

Without hesitation he said “No, it’s fine the way it is. In fact, I want to add something”

“Holy #%$*^$, Are you nuts?”

“No” he said…”that’s the program and I have to go…the plane is taking off”

It took me about an hour to cool down…But, I made it through.

The program is awesome…I have to say. Even though I think Cain is giving away too much.

More details tomorrow

UC irvine made an awesome run at the College World Series…isn’t the CWS the best sporting event ever? Imagine playing in that thing…goose bumps

Well, UC irvine Coach Dave Serrano was named Baseball America Coach of the Year, His team went 47-17, finished 4th in the nation, and went to their first CWS….I am sure you would agree this is pretty awesome, right?

…In comes Cain…

Brian Cain worked very closely with UC Irvine. Rather that tell you everything he did and toot Cain’s horn why don’t we go right to the horse’s mouth…

Here’s what Coach Serrano had to say about Cain

“I here are a lot of people who claim to be “Performance Enhancement Consultants,” “Sport Psychologists,” or “Masters of The Mental Game.”  In my coaching career I have heard many people present on The Mental Game of Baseball, and I have seen first hand how critical the Mental Game can be to winning in Omaha.  Brian Cain is one of, if not THE BEST Mental Game presenters that I have ever seen.  His enthusiasm and energy are contagious. He has a great way of reaching and catching the attention of today’s athlete to enhance their careers.  His use of videos and technology will keep you and your players dialed in for the entire presentation. He lives over 3000 miles away, but stays in daily contact with our staff and players through e-mail and instant messenger.  He has produced personal and team highlight videos for our players, all through use of the internet.  If you want to take your program to the next level, and give your team the best chance for success at any level, you need to call Brian Cain TODAY!

Oh, by the way we are just a week away from the launch of Cain coaching program…you will be floored by what Cain is going to do.

One more thing, just becasue we are going to launch a new program we are not going to stop posting free content to this blog almost everyday.

Dr. Tom Hanson and Derek Jeter

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

I just got off the phone with Dr. Tom Hanson, who wrote the best seller Heads-Up Baseball and used to consult full-time with the Yankees and told him how much I like
his free report on “Jeter’s Confidence Secret.”

See, he worked with Jeter when he was with the Yanks. Doc Hansen also has interviewed legends in baseball like Hank Aaron and Pete Rose

Well, anyway….Hansen is always giving, giving, giving…one of the real great guys in the game.

He said I was welcome to offer the Jeter report to my blog readers, so here you go –

www.FreeBaseballConfidence.com

By the way, you know the sign of a good coach? When everytime you leave him you are just a little bit better. Today Doc Hansen made me a little better today…he was telling me about speed and success. He was saying that a mentor of his taught him that success loves speed…in other words get moving on your goals. Don’t wait around. Get going….right now…why are you still reading this….Doc Hansen says move…get over to www.FreeBaseballConfidence.com and get the Jeter report….NOW

“What Does this Drill Do?” by Cain

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Do you ever watch a drill and wonder why players don’t seem to be giving their all, or why they are not particularly focused? It may be because they don’t know the purpose of the drill. When players do not know the reason behind a drill, they are more apt to just go through the motions.

One way to address this problem is through “drill purpose cards.” If a practice is not going well, we’ll stop, hand out index cards, and give our players a short written quiz that asks them to identify the purpose of the drills we are doing. Sometimes, we are very surprised at their answers, and we realize that we need to better communicate the whys of a drill before we explain the hows.
Best,
Paul Reddick

PS - The Cain Coaching Program is coming out next week…it’s crazy

Get Focused Quickly - Clear Your Water

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Many times we arrive at practice with, what Cain call’s, cloudy minds. We are thinking about schoolwork, social issues, or the latest tunes we want to download. I know I went to workouts the other day thinking about my new iPhone…can’t help it…it’s cool. But, for the next two hours I needed to focus on my players and they needed to focus on the workouts

I hate admiting whne Cain is right….but, he was about this…I had to clear the water.

Here’s how Cain gets players to focus in less than two minutes? He uses a drill called “clearing the water,” which provides a visual image for quieting the mind. To start, he asks players to shut their eyes and imagine their minds as a glass of water fresh from the tap, cloudy with air bubbles. Next, he instructs to inhale deeply through their nose, drawing air into their belly. They then exhale slowly through the nose, imagining that with each exhale their minds become clearer and clearer, just like the glass of water does as the air bubbles disperse.

This process takes just 45 seconds to two minutes and pays large dividends in improving the quality of practice. It’s a short exercise that encourages players and coaches to focus on the here and now.

I did this the other day and it worked liked crazy.

Damm, Cain was right again. It kind of burns my butt to think about how good he is.

In just about 10 days we are launching Brian’s new coaching program…stay tuned. You’re not going believe what Cain is going to put out. I keep telling him he is nuts.

But, I’m not the one who had 7 first round picks this year…so…I guess I will listen to what he wants.

Best,
Paul Reddick
